Loft mainly refers to two different types of rooms.
1) It typically refers to an upper story, (in S'pore usually loft means fr 2nd fl can look down to 1st level)
2) or attic in a building, directly under the roof.
2 storey apartment (maisonnette) usually cannot look down 1st level from 2nd fl & is a self-contained apartment
(usually on two floors)
